DST–Centre for Policy Research
The DST–Centre for Policy Research, established in 2023 at IIT Indore, focuses on advancing both technological and policy dimensions of integrated water resource management and water governance. The centre is supported by the Department of Science and Technology, GoI. The centre works to deepen understanding of science, technology, and innovation policy (STI).
Using big data applications, intellectual property analytics, and field surveys, the Center aims to deliver industry-relevant models and policy notes for the state. Its activities support localized water and climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, and a stronger policy–planning–practice interface driven by science and technology innovation.

To strengthen academia, industries, and MSMEs by promoting big data solutions and emerging technologies.
To build credible digital knowledge ecosystems that protect indigenous intellectual property and enhance global research visibility.

Patent landscape analysis in Robotics, IoT, AI, ML, clean energy, water & climate technologies.
Assessment of scholarly publishing and creation of a credible DOAJ/DOAB-based repository.
Digitization of local knowledge systems related to water & environment to protect indigenous IP.
Analysis of IPR data to understand innovation patterns, collaborations, and knowledge spillovers.
Digitization of patents & IPR databases with user-friendly, technology-agnostic access interfaces.
Entrepreneurship promotion in water and climate sectors through scalable, innovation-based models.
