I'm Chetan S.V. (he/him/his), a Ph.D. candidate in Psychology and Disability Studies at the Department of Liberal Arts, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, working under the supervision of Dr. Shubha Ranganathan.
As part of my Ph.D. research, I'm exploring the experiences of neurodivergent young adults, especially those with a Learning Disability (dyslexia/dysgraphia/dyscalculia) in the context of higher education, using qualitative methodologies from an interdisciplinary approach including Disability Studies, Anthropology, and Critical Psychology. I'm also studying the structures and processes of Indian higher education institutes with functional disability centers/enabling units that support students with diverse learning needs.
Disability Studies, Neurodiversity, Critical Psychology, Qualitative research, Intersectional feminism, Comics-based research, Pedagogy of psychology, and Psychotherapy are some areas I'm deeply interested in and passionate about!
In my free time, I sketch, sit with plants, play the Veena, collect newspapers, solve puzzles, and listen to old Hindi film songs and Carnatic music.
