Learning from IITGN Library: IIT Gandhinagar was my first formal workplace after completing my Master’s degree at BHU and, in many ways, my first real step into professional library work. The experience provided valuable hands-on exposure to academic library services, particularly Information Resource Acquisition & Technical Services and Access & User Services, along with a strong understanding of automated and user-oriented library operations. One of my most important learnings was seeing the library as more than a service point—a space that builds community through inclusive activities, collaborations, and engagement with diverse members of the institute. The guidance and support of my mentors also played an important role in shaping my professional and personal growth.
