R is an open-source language freely available to everyone, with an engaged community actively contributing to its development. R's strength is its ability to handle a wide range of data forms and structures, including simple vectors and matrices, as well as more complicated data frames and lists. It excels at statistical analysis, with built-in capabilities for basic and complex statistical approaches. R and RStudio provide a solid and adaptable toolkit for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization for data analysts, researchers, and scientists. R's vast library and active user community allow users to access cutting-edge approaches and strategies. Meanwhile, RStudio's easy-to-use interface and powerful capabilities make coding more efficient.

Abstract: Research Data Management (RDM) is a growing field within librarianship, focusing on the best practices for managing data throughout the entire research process. This encompasses various stages, such as planning and research design, data collection and capture, data analysis, as well as managing, storing, preserving, sharing, and publishing data to facilitate its discovery, reuse, and citation. Researchers are generating vast amounts of research data as part of their research activities. The outcome of these activities could take the form of published research articles, books, book chapters, research reports, working papers, or theses and dissertations, providing research results and summaries to readers. However, the research data that supports these results is often not included in the research reports or articles and remains hidden with researchers, stored on their data storage devices. The scholarly communication system has introduced a novel way to disseminate research through open science, open data, and open education resources. Open data emphasizes the significant value of research data for reuse, sharing, re-analysis, and reinterpretation of research results, contributing substantially to the scholarly value of researchers, universities, and institutions.
This webinar on RDM services offers an overview of research data, its importance, and the stakeholders involved, while exploring how libraries can support RDM activities for researchers. Additionally, it presents the current state of RDM services in libraries at Science and Technology institutions in India, as well as relevant policies set by scholarly publishers and funders.

Abstract: National Digital Library of India (NDLI) has made a tangible attempt for India’s first Copyright Guide by developing a draft standard guideline of copyright best practices in Indian libraries. NDLI released the draft on the occasion of National Library Day 2020 (12 August) and they also invited for public review and feedback during 12th Aug - 30th Sep, '2020. NDLI Copyright Guide for Libraries in India has simplified the complicatedly drafted provisions in the Indian Copyright Act and it facilitates the lighting of the path and assists Information managers / librarians / library professionals to understand and deal with multiple issues pertaining to copyrights while servicing the users of their facilities. Thus, the aim of the presentation is to understand this copyright guide, terms, and expressions frequently used and also discuss how libraries can adopt copyright guides in a current scenario like the COVID-19 pandemic.
