I was born in Tibet and brought up in India. At very young age, I took a asylum to India for the education purpose. I always feel grateful to the Government of India and its people for given us such a warm hospitality in India.
Batch: 2015-2016
Learning from IITGN Library: For being a student of LIS, I got the opportunity to visits or engaged with some reputed educational institutes like INFLIBNET Center, IIM Ahmedabad, NID Ahmedabad, TCS Gandhinagar, DACIIT Gandhinagar, PDPU Gandhinagar and IITGN. I’m totally indebted with my alma mater universities, IITGN for given me such a wonderful learning platform. During my tenure of traineeship at IITGN, I got an opportunity to work with all the section of the library and specifically, I spent whole year in acquisition section of new reading materials, creating records in software and physical processing of the same. Also I got chance to works in the SOUL & KOHA Library Management Software. Major missing moment was the library shifting days from old campus to its permanent campus. Though, it took more than 15 days but it was truly a lifetime learning experience with so much fun. I always felt myself very lucky that I worked in the both campus. I was fortunate been part of the ‘IITGN Library’ family at the initial stage of my career and your support and kind guidance plays a vital role in my personal or professional growth. My humble thanks to all the Gurus, Staff and my colleagues for being part of my career journey.
Life after IITGN
Currently Working: Librarian, Sambhota Tibetan School, Mundgod (Karnataka).
Job Profile: For being a school librarian, I just handle all the sections and other related works. Mainly focusing on the cultivation of reading habits among the students, especially from the grassroots levels so, daily based conducting different activities to grab the student's interest in the books and inculcating the reading habits. Also building the collection of the books in the library and since, we have a limited grant to purchase the books. Therefore, I used to approach to the colleagues, friends, school (Alma mater) and, NGO’s to fulfil the wish-list of the students. Even, I have approached to the Kalam Library Project and Parag Honor List and fortunately, this year our school library has been selected for Parag Book Box 2020-21 after reviewing applicants note.
Interest in LIS Field: Database Management, Library Management Software and Digital Library.
Goals in LIS field: I wish to do a research on “Information Organization and Library Services in Tibetan Society”.
Professional Achievement: I got a scholarship to pursue the Library Educator Certificate Course. It is ‘Professional Development Certificate’ course developed by Parag, an initiative of Tata Trusts and being offered in English by Bookworm Trust, Goa since 2017.
