The award includes a fellowship amount of ₹ 25,000/- per month and a contingency grant of ₹ 6,00,000/- per annum for three years, with a possible extension of another two years.
Prof. Himanshu Shekhar has been selected for the Har Govind Khorana-Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The award includes a research grant and a fellowship amount of ₹. 1,00,000/- per annum for three years.
