The department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar offers Master of Technology (MTech) programmes in the following disciplines.
A. Electrical Engineering
Candidates can give preference for sub-specializations for MTech in Electrical Engineering. If offered, students will work on a thesis in the area of the selected sub-specialization. The degree offered is MTech (Electrical Engineering) with no specialization and students can be admitted through MTech (Regular), MTech (Early Admit) or MTech (Work and Study) programmes. The following sub-specializations are offered for MTech in Electrical Engineering, for students admitted from 2024-25.
B. Integrated Circuit Design & Technology
Candidates can apply for MTech in Integrated Circuit Design & Technology. If offered, students will work on a thesis in the area of Integrated Circuit Design & Technology. The degree offered is MTech (Integrated Circuit Design & Technology) and students can be admitted through MTech (Regular), MTech (Early Admit) or MTech (Work and Study) programmes.

Other Requirements
Aarohan and two courses of Physical Education are mandatory Pass/Fail courses. Fellowship (if eligible) will be usually released only after completion of Aarohan.

- A maximum of 8 Credits from the Electives group and 1 HSS course can be at the undergraduate level (Course Code 5XX or below). All other courses MUST be at the postgraduate level (Course Code 6XX or above).
- Pre-approved MOOCs, subject to approved credit limits, can be considered for HSS course or for courses from the Electives group.
