Library Hours & Access
The Library operates on an open-access system. It is functional from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:10 PM. The Library remains closed on Sunday and public holidays.
Handling Library Materials
Readers are requested not to reshelve books or materials after use. Kindly leave them on the designated tables.
Reminder: A misplaced book is as good as lost.
Personal Belongings
Users must leave personal belongings such as bags, purses, briefcases, and parcels in the designated area near the entrance. These items are not permitted in the stack area. Only notebooks and loose papers may be carried inside.
Maintaining Quiet
Silence must be observed at all times. Please avoid any behavior that may disturb fellow users.
Care for Library Materials
Do not deface, mark, mutilate, tear, or damage any library material. Any user found responsible for such actions will be charged the full replacement cost of the item, based on current market rates.

Borrowing Policy
Faculty members, students, researchers, and staff of IITE are entitled to borrowing privileges at Library.
Each user will have an individual borrowing account, which is updated with every transaction.
Book availability can also be checked through Library Online (OPAC) before visiting the library.
Many of Library’s resources are accessible in digital format via the Intranet. Users are encouraged to make optimal use of these online resources whenever possible, rather than relying on physical copies.

Student Borrowing Rules
1. Borrowing Limits
UG and PG students may borrow up to 2 books.
The borrowing period is 14 days.
Ph.D. students may borrow up to 10 books.
The borrowing period is 30 days.
2. Borrowing Procedure
Students must carry his/her library card for visit library and borrowing book/s
3. Loan Duration & Fines
Books are issued for a period of 14 days.
Overdue books incur a fine of ₹5 per day per book.
Students are encouraged to renew books before or on the due date to avoid fines.
Books that have been reserved by other users cannot be renewed.
4. Restricted Materials
Reference Books (marked with ______ tags), journals, periodicals, dissertations, summer reports, and loose materials are not to be issued outside Library.
5. Campus Leave
Students who are leaving the campus for more than three consecutive days must return all borrowed Library materials before departure.
7. Recalls
Library reserves the right to recall any issued item before its due date if necessary.
8. Online Resources
Library provides access to a wide range of online databases and resources via Library Online on the IITE campus.
9. Use of Resources
Students are not permitted to remove any Library materials or their copies, or any part of online resources, from the campus, unless explicitly authorized.
Unauthorized use or duplication is a violation of Library policies.

Faculty / Staff Borrowing Rules
1. Borrowing Limit
Each faculty member or staff member may borrow up to 10 books against their Library account.
2. Borrowing Procedure
Employee must carry his library card for visit library and borrow the book/s
3. Loan Duration & Renewals
Books may be borrowed for 30 days.
Renewals for an additional 30 days are permitted, provided the book is not reserved by another user.
Books reserved by others cannot be renewed.
4. Campus Leave
Faculty/staff members who are leaving the campus for more than ten consecutive days must return all borrowed Library materials prior to departure.
5. Recalls
Library reserves the right to recall any issued item before the due date, if necessary.
6. Online Resources Access
Library subscribes to a wide range of online databases and resources. These can be accessed via Library Online on the MICA campus. Faculty and research staff can access these resources from their offices or campus residences.
7. Use of Resources Off-Campus
Faculty/research staff members are permitted to take Library resources or their copies, including partial or full copies of online materials, outside the campus—strictly for official academic or research purposes.
