I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad since August 2023. My research area is focused manufacturing process establishment and optimisation to develop new cutting edge composite metals. 

Prior to the present position, I worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher (Aug 2020 to July 2023) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. I earned my PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from IIT Madras in May 2020. I have authored around 12 research publications in high-impact factor SCI Q1-ranked international journals. I am the reviewer of peer-reviewed journals in the field of Materials Characterisations, Journal of Materials: Design and Applications, etc. 

My research achievements include (i) the Institute Research Award for best Ph.D. thesis, (ii) the Prof. R Krishnamurthy Endowment award for excellent Ph.D. research in the field of advanced material and surface engineering-based manufacturing at IIT Madras, and (iii) the Editorial Choice Honor for one of the published papers in Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A. I also received the nomination for the Innovative Students Project Award at the Indian National Academy of Engineering, which is one of the most prestigious awards in the nation. I have successfully published a patent in the field of dry and near-dry electric discharge machining. 

I have extended my research area to the domain of advanced sheet metal forming, material processing, and manufacturing, such as electro-plastic forming, high-speed forming, and joining (Magnetic pulse welding).
