🚀 Opening for ANRF-National Postdoctoral Fellowship (NPDF)
Based in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Dharwad, our group brings together interdisciplinary expertise in materials development, nanotechnology, mechanism-driven experimentation, modeling, and interface science. We work at the intersection of chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science to understand and engineer matter at the nanoscale for impactful applications in health, energy, catalysis, and the environment.
Our research integrates fundamental mechanistic studies, advanced simulations, and precision-controlled synthesis to accelerate the discovery and design of functional nanomaterials. We investigate how nanoparticles form, evolve, and interact, and develop experimentally validated models that bridge molecular-level mechanisms with macroscopic behavior. This synergy enables us to tailor particle size, shape, structure, and surface chemistry with unprecedented control. While much of our work is rooted in theory, computation, and mechanistic modeling, we maintain a strong experimental foundation. Our laboratory focuses on nanoparticle synthesis, colloid and interface engineering, drug-delivery systems, and catalytic materials, supported by state-of-the-art characterization tools and hands-on experimentation. This integrated approach allows us to test computational hypotheses, validate predictive models, and generate high-fidelity experimental data that drive new insights. A central mission of our group is to frame challenges in nanoscience in ways that preserve the richness of the underlying physics and chemistry while making them tractable to modern modeling and experimental methodologies. By doing so, we aim to contribute platform-level knowledge that informs the synthesis of materials, biomedical applications, environmental remediation, and catalytic processes.
We welcome you to explore our work, publications, and ongoing projects, and to join us in advancing the science of interfaces, nanostructures, and functional materials.
