Intra-seasonal Oscillation is the dominant mode of intra-seasonal variability. It incorporates a eastward moving structure of deep convection called the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO). MJO is known to modulate the tropical weather systems, Indian Summer Monsoon (ISM) as well as Extreme events. My work involves an investigation into the inner workings of these Intra-seasonal Oscillations.
Climate change is the grim reality of our times. It has a wide range of consequences starting from agriculture, economy to the fate of our planet. A detailed inspection of these effects of climate change is the first necessary step towards building a stop counter and possibly mitigation of climate changes adverse effects. As a result I am deeply interested in working towards a detailed inquiry of Climate change and committed towards finding the optimum possible pathways to diminish it's negative impact on human life as a whole.
An incredibly challenging area of atmospheric science is the science of medium range weather forecast. A thorough understanding of the dynamics of Tropical Climate is essential to make a prediction of such a time scale. My work involves how understanding this dynamics of tropical climate will improve the forecasting of climate systems.
