Subhashis Ghoshal is the Goodnight Distinguished Professor of Statistics at the Department of Statistics of North Carolina State University (NCSU), Raleigh, NC. His research interests include Bayesian nonparametrics, high-dimensional statistics, graphical models, shape-restricted inference, differential equation models, etc. His research has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation including its CAREER Award, Army Research Office, National Security Agency, Samsung Electronics, etc., and several European Agencies. He advised more than thirty Ph.D. students. He is a fellow of IMS, ASA and ISBA. His book Fundamentals of Nonparametric Bayesian Inference with Aad van der Vaart won in 2019 the prestigious De Groot Prize for the best book in Statistical Sciences. He also held honorary positions Chair Professor positions in The Netherlands. He is currently serving, or has served, on the editorial boards of many top statistics journals such as The Annals of Statistics. He is presently the past president of the International Indian Statistical Association.
Professor Sujit Ghosh is currently a tenured Professor in the Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University (NC State) in Raleigh, NC, USA. He has over 30 years of experience in conducting, applying, evaluating and documenting statistical analysis of biomedical and environmental data. Prof. Ghosh has supervised over 48 doctoral graduate students and 5 post-doctoral fellows. He was awarded D.D. Mason Faculty award in 2023 and Cavell Brownie Mentoring Award in 2014 by the Statistics department at NC State. He has also served as a statistical investigator and consultant for over 45 different research projects funded by various leading private industries and federal agencies. Prof. Ghosh has published over 145 refereed journal articles in the various areas of statistics with applications in biomedical and environmental sciences, econometrics and engineering. He has co-authored a popular textbook titled "Bayesian Statistical Methods ” in 2019. He has also served as the Deputy Director at the Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute (SAMSI) in 2014-2017, a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) at The Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI) in 2021-2023 and the interim Department Head of Statistics at NC State during 2022-2023. In 2024, he was appointed to the Board of Trustees and Member of the NISS Corporation by the President of the Triangle Universities Center for Advanced Studies Inc. (TUCASI) for a term of two years and a member-at-large of the Board of Governors at CANSSI for a term of three years.
H.Rue is a professor of Statistics at CEMSE Division, at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia, since 2017, and before that a professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Norwegian University for Science and Technology. He was named a highly cited researcher according to the Highly Cited Researchers in the years 2019--2021, from the Web of Science Group. He gave the Bahadur Memorial Lectures at Univ of Chicago in 2018, and was in 2021 awarded the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) Guy Medal in Silver for his work on Integrated Nested Laplace Approximations (INLA) and the Stochastic Partial Differential Equation (SPDE) approach represent and compute with Gaussian fields. Ajit Rajwade is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay. He obtained his bachelors degree from the University of Pune, Pune (India), his masters degree from McGill University, Montreal (Canada) and his PhD degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville (USA) -- all in computer science and engineering. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Duke University, Durham (USA) prior to joining IIT Bombay as a faculty member. His research interests are in signal and image processing and computer vision, with a focus on image and video restoration, compression and reconstruction, tomography, compressed sensing and sparse regression. He is also interested in areas of data science such as probability density estimation, graph signal processing and group testing. In his areas of interest, he has published more than 60 papers in prestigious international conferences and journals. He is a senior member of the IEEE and an associate editor of the journals Signal Processing (Elsevier) and the IEEE Open Journal on Signal Processing. He is a recipient of an excellence in teaching award from IIT Bombay.
Dr. Buddhananda Banerjee is an Assistant Professor and researcher in the Department of Mathematics at IIT Kharagpur. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, an M.Sc. from IIT Kharagpur, and a B.Sc. from Calcutta University. Dr. Banerjee’s research spans statistical theory, data analysis, and applied statistics, with specialized expertise in Statistics on Manifolds, Change-Point Analysis, Functional Data Analysis, and Surrogate Marker Analysis in Clinical Trials. Committed to advancing statistical methodologies, he contributes valuable insights across diverse applications and has published extensively in his field. He remains actively engaged in professional networks to stay connected with developments in statistics and data science.
Subhajit did his undergraduate at the Presidency College, Kolkata; post-graduate at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur; and received his PhD from the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata all in Statistics. Before joining ISI Kolkata in July 2024, he was a faculty member at IIT Kanpur. His research interests include statistical machine learning, non-parametric inference and high-dimensional data.
Dr. Radhendushka Srivastava did BSc and MSc in mathematical statistics from the University of Lucknow. He was awarded PhD in statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He was a post doctoral associate at the Department of Statistical Science, Cornell University. Subsequently, he joined as a faculty at the Department of Mathematics at IIT Bombay. His research interests include high-dimensional regression, statistical machine learning, non-parametric regression, statistical signal processing. He is also interested in statistical application in earth and ocean sciences.
