Accreditation provides third party quality assurance of Illinois Tech programs.  To become and remain accredited, institutions  must regularly demonstrate and follow the accreditors standards and best practices. This section highlights accreditors at Illinois Tech

Regional Accreditation

Illinois Institute of Technology is accredited as a whole by the Higher Learning Commission. Advancing the common good through quality assurance of higher education, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the United States. HLC is as an institutional accreditor, accrediting the institution as a whole.

Specialized Accreditation

In addition to comprehensive, university-wide accreditation, Illinois Tech’s individual academic units and programs may fall under the purview of specialized/program accreditors.
