Research Interests

Dr. Lane earned his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science with an emphasis on behavioral and emotional integration at the University of Florida. His doctoral training prepared him for interdisciplinary research; an emphasis that resonates throughout his teaching and research. Dr. Lane has 15 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in rehabilitation and psychology. He has experience teaching in traditional and distance education venues utilizing Blackboard platform.

Dr. Lane is trained as a psychotherapist. He is a Certified as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and Licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. He has over 19 years of clinical and administrative experience directing programs in state-federal vocational rehabilitation, vocational work evaluation, and private-sector rehabilitation.


Service

Dr. Lane currently serves as an editorial board member for the Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin and the Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counseling.

Dr. Lane formerly served as the President of the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association (ARCA) (2010), the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Council on Rehabilitation Education (2011-2017), and the head of the Council on Public Relations and Awareness, and Public Policy and Legislation (2006-2008) for the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association (ARCA).
