Nepal Tour 2024
A 7-Day Adventure in Nepal
In January 2024, we, the students of IIT, University of Dhaka, embarked on an unforgettable rag tour to Nepal. Our journey began from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Soon after our flight, we landed in Tribhuvan International Airport and started our journey for our first destination - Chitwan. in Chitwan, where we spent the first two days. Chitwan is famous for its rich biodiversity, and we explored the Chitwan National Park on a thrilling jeep safari, spotting rhinos, deer, and exotic birds. The serene Rapti River canoe ride offered glimpses of crocodiles and a tranquil connection with nature. The evenings were filled with the rhythmic beats of the Tharu cultural show, a mesmerizing display of the local ethnic community’s heritage.
Next, we headed to Pokhara, a city of scenic beauty. For two days, we enjoyed boating on the picturesque Phewa Lake, surrounded by reflections of the Himalayan peaks. A highlight was witnessing the sunrise at Sarangkot, with a breathtaking view of Annapurna and Machhapuchhare. Exploring the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave and Devi’s Falls added mystery to the adventure. The thrill peaked with paragliding from Sarangkot, offering bird’s-eye views of the stunning landscapes.
Our final destination was Kathmandu, where history came alive. We marveled at the intricate architecture of the Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) and Boudhanath Stupa, and delved into Nepal's royal history at the Narayanhiti Palace Museum. We also visited the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples, enjoyed our evening roaming around the Darbar Square premises, and explored the bustling markets of Thamel.
This 7-day journey was an exhilarating blend of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural immersion. Nepal’s charm left us in awe!
