NEWS Music

Sarith and Surith started their band in early 2016. They are very passionate and dedicated to what they aspire and accomplish as musicians. They started their journey by performing at pocket concerts and parties. In the very same year, they released their 1st single and anchored their name in the local music industry. Soon after, they joined with the youth radio channel YFm and showcased their talents at the Y Unplugged Studio - Live. With the huge popularity and appreciation received, they were requested to be a part of the youth musical program on Sirasa TV called 16+. With all the popularity, they were lucky enough to join hands with the National Television of Sri Lanka and the newly formed program in collaboration with the Brand CocaCola named “Coke Red” directed by Mr.Ravindra Munasinghe. On that stage, they had enough room to showcase their innovative music and reach the global audience. The Band News consists of eight multi talented individuals. Rashmika Chanith on Keyboards, Vihara Hettiwatta on Rhythm Guitars, Venuk Pesara on Acoustic Guitars, Lehan Budvin on Bass, Thilina on Percussion, Sarith Jayawardena on Lead Guitars, Surith Jayawardena on Drums, Nadee Senevirathne on Vocals and KVN The Rapper.

Adimathra

News Adhimathra are the most favourite great music-filled sessions of News Fans. The initiative behind these sessions is to recall the memories of  amazing hits of Sri Lanka back in the day. Each and every Adhimathra session became so trending that they were even able to grab the attention of amazing fans all around the world. With the Adhimathra sessions, the News band reached a whole other exciting level of popularity and became the most popular young band which caters to all audiences today. The younger generation is so eager to wait for each episode's release. Therefore, the News family is always in touch with Olden and Golden music which also allows News, as a team, to pay their gratitude to the legendary music directors, lyric writers and singers who created the origins of what great music is in Sri Lanka today.
