IISER TVM permanent campus is located in Vithura village, in the north-eastern part of Thiruvananthapuram city. The campus is about 7 Km from Vithura Junction. Vithura is a small village situated at about 50 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Vithura is the crossroads to various tourist, cultural, and religious centres, Surrounded by the Western Ghats (Sahyadri). IISER TVM is about 50 km from Thiruvananthapuram central railway station.

ARRIVING BY RAIL OR BUS?

IISER Thiruvananthapuram is about 50 km from Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station/KSRTC central bus station popularly known as Thampanoor. KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) bus services are available from KSRTC Central bus station (shown in image, situated opposite to Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway station) to IISER TVM, Vithura campus at Platform 6 or 7.

Arriving by AIR?

IISER TVM is about 60 km from the airport. A taxi will cost around Rs. 1800/- from Airport to IISER TVM permanent campus.

Bus services to Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station/KSRTC central bus station at thampanoor are available at the airport. Bus service to IISER TVM campus can be availed at the central bus station as mentioned above.

TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENTS

According to SERB website, Attendees can avail travel allowance reimbursements for journey to the host institute from their hometown / home institute, both ways, as per GOI norms (see FAQs on Kaaryashala page).

Based on this, PhD students or JRFs should be able to avail upto 2 tier AC on trains. Undergraduates and masters students should be able to avail upto 3 tier AC on trains. Institute staff and faculty should be able to avail up to economy flight tickets.
