Our research integrates field observations, petrology, geochemistry, and geochronology to investigate the formation and evolution of orogenic belts. By shedding light on the mechanisms that drive metamorphism and deformation in orogenic belts, we aim to contribute to our understanding of the fundamental processes that shaped the Earth's continental crust.

2024: Padmaja J. received the received the International Travel Support from SERB as well as the CSIR International Travel Grant to present her research at the European Mineralogical Conference (EMC) at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
2024: Padmaja J. received the best talk award in Convergence 2024, organized by the Department of Earth Sciences.
2024: Tapabrato Sarkar has been elected as an ‘Associate’ of the West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology (WAST) for five years.
2023: MS student Ramswaroop Ishram offered a PhD position at IIT Kanpur
2023: Ashish Kumar Tiwari published a first author paper in the prestigious 'Journal of Metamorphic Geology'.
2023: Ashish Kumar Tiwari received Early Career Scientist's Travel Support (ECSTS) travel support from EGU to present his research at EGU General Assembly 2023 in Vienna, Austria.
2022: Arpita Singha received the AGU Austin Endowment for Student Travel, to attend the AGU Fall Meeting 2022. A grant amount is $1000.
2022: MS student Sumedha D received PhD fellowship from from the University of Maryland, USA.
