The IISER Bhopal Math Symposium of the Department of Mathematics was conceived as a platform for Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers to present their research and to engage in fruitful discussion amongst them and faculty members with disparate research interests.

The first Math symposium was held in February 2018 and has been held yearly since then. The Math Symposium 2024 will have two plenary talks by invited speakers and contributed talks in Algebra, Analysis, and Geometry-Topology by invited speakers, Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows.
