Ultrasound is a widely trusted, non-invasive imaging modality critical for monitoring fetal development and mitigating pregnancy risks. However, access to this essential diagnostic tool is often limited in rural India due to the scarcity of trained sonographers and regulatory restrictions under the PCPNDT Act 1994, amended in 2002. Addressing these challenges, my work focuses on designing the Secure Ultrasound (SecureUS) System including innovative AI-powered solutions enabling minimally trained users, such as Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), to perform antenatal scans without real-time visual feedback, thereby complying with PCPNDT norms.
