I work in the Computational AeroSciences (CAS) Lab (CAS-Lab) with Prof. Aravind Balan (Google Scholar). My research focuses on Metric-field based mesh adaptation for high-order discontinuous Galerkin methods. The research is at the intersection of various fields like Fluid Dynamics, Computational Gas Dynamics, Numerical Methods, Applied Mathematics, and Computing.

I became interested in computational fluid dynamics during my bachelor's in mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. Courses like Fluid Dynamics, Compressible Fluid Flows, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and my major project, which was in CFD, contributed to deepening my interest in CFD.

Currently, I'm a Ph.D. student at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, working in the field of CFD. My research focuses on developing robust adjoint-based anisotropic mesh adaptation algorithms for high-order discontinuous Galerkin methods for compressible RANS simulations.

Mesh adaptation has great potential to automate CFD workflow. With increasing interest in simulating more complex fluid phenomena and increasing computing power, mesh adaption can offer accurate flow solutions with minimum computing resources.
