DO_I_ KNOW_YOU ?

Do I Know You is a gadget, which offers you security at your house from unwanted accidents as mentioned above. It is also meant for security purposes i.e. by means of our gadget, trespassing can be avoided to a great extent.

Process:

After identifying the problem statement and stakeholders, out first step forward was scheduling our tasks
Then, we initially began with the firesensor.
Our next step was to make gas sensor to use.
Next, we started with GSM Module so as to send sms alerts in case of emergency.
The final step was facial recognition.
We began with facial detection and then clicked around 5000 photos for effective facial recognition.
Lastly, we compiled the whole project.

Challenges:

Installing openCV was a task in itself
Using raspberry-pi was challenging
To enable facial recognition, atleast 5000 photos needed to be clicked which was huge task.

Outcomes:

As soon as the firesensor detects fire, the emergency gate opens and sms alert is sent.
As soon as there is detection of gas leakage, the vent on the roof opens to give passage to the gas and an sms alert is sent.
In case of an outsider at the main gate, intrusion alert is sent via e-mail and the person inside the house can choose to accept or decline the permission of the outsider to enter the house.
Permission can be given without coming at the main door, just via Bluetooth.
If the camera at the main door recognises the face, the main door automatically opens.
