The mission of department of electrical engineering is to mold its students into stalwart professionals capable of taking on leadership roles in significant organizations and developing game-changing technology advances. Through nationally and globally supported sponsored research, industrial consultation, and numerous research collaborations, the department is engaged in a broad spectrum of research in established and new technologies. Currently, the Department of Electrical Engineering conducts research in the following areas: power and renewable energy systems; power electronics and drives; smartgrid and computing techniques and systems. As a research institution, the department will focus on finding solutions to pressing issues in areas as diverse as society, culture, technology, and health.

Message from Head of Department
Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIIT Bhubaneswar.
Our faculty is especially proud of the pioneering electrical engineering students and researchers it has trained in the past and will train in the future. Students in Electrical Engineering and related cutting-edge research fields have been given a solid technical grounding thanks to the institution's well-established teaching and research environment.
The B.Tech students in this area have access to a wide variety of electives, including both professional and general options. The primary goal is to give students a solid foundation in fundamental electrical and electronics concepts, on top of which they can expand by studying more narrowly focused topics with greater intensity. Academic research, independent/group projects, and laboratory courses help students acquire the analytical, design, and experimental skills necessary for success in a wide range of disciplines. The program allows for practical experience through project work and facilitates employment with reputable businesses.
Research innovation is heavily encouraged at the doctoral level, and students are given the tools they need to pursue careers in academia, industry, and government.
