About the Teacher

I graduated from Mount St. Mary's University in 1991 with a BS in Elementary Education. As a Maryland state certified teacher, I began my career in 1992 teaching 5th grade for Baltimore County Public Schools at Chapel Hill Elementary School. During my tenure at Chapel Hill, I worked on and achieved my Masters in Leadership in Teaching in 2002 from Notre Dame University of Maryland. I also spent several summers working for Baltimore County Public Schools writing Math curriculum, developing Language Arts lessons and teaching summer school. After 12 1/2 years teaching at Chapel Hill and when my oldest daughter was born, I decided to pause my career to stay home and raise my family. During my time as a stay-at-home mom, I maintained my teaching certification. In 2013 I was very happy to return to the classroom and teach 5th grade here at IHM!

I have been married to my husband Eddie for seventeen years and have two beautiful daughters. Hannah is in 11th grade and Meg is in 9th grade at Maryvale Preparatory School.
