The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has constituted the Institute’s Innovation Council (IIC) at NCIDE following the establishment of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC). As a part of its activities, the IIC is organising an Idea Competition in Virtual Mode in the second week of December 2022. This activity is linked to the MoE’s initiative to create a National Innovation Repository-YUKTI. The purpose of the Competition is to recognize, share, nurture and promote ideas of the students of IGNOU, to systematically foster the culture of Innovation through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system at IGNOU. The selected students will be invited to participate and present their ideas in Virtual Mode.
The Winners of the Idea Competition will be awarded Certificates and attractive prizes.
The bona fide and registered students of IGNOU including IGNOU alumni, who have come up with an idea for creating an innovative product, process or services for the betterment of the society are eligible.
By participating in this Idea Competition, you would be able to show your talent, test your ideas, connect with mentors, challenge yourself to think innovatively, and win exciting prizes. It would, help you to enhance your social and emotional learning, while boosting your competitive spirit. You will also receive training in entrepreneurship skills and related hard and soft skills to develop your idea into a business plan. It is a very good opportunity to showcase your Ideas at the national level and also there is a possibility of being selected and supported by the MOE and other organizations. 1. Appropriate selection of the problem: Think of problems or challenges faced by you or the society in any of the above mentioned theme areas. The Right Identification of the Problem is important.
2. Adequately addressing the problem/need: Think of an innovative idea and establish it as the correct solution for the problem. Relevance of the Solution is important.
3. Distinctive features of the solution: Give a detailed description on how your idea will work as a solution to the problem. Elaborate the Quality Features of the Solution.
4. Uniqueness of the Solution: Make sure that the idea is your original idea and is new. In case a similar idea already exists, then highlight the novelty of your idea. The Intellectual Property Component of your idea needs to be highlighted.
Step 1: Register in the YUKTI Portal
Those who are interested in applying should first register on the YUKTI Portal at the following link:

Applicants must upload the copy of document/ID proof of association with the IGNOU while registration at the portal.
Select “Delhi” as the place while filling the name of IGNOU as your institute.
Step 2: Log in to YUKTI Portal
Now log in to the same YUKTI portal to submit your idea.
Step 3: Fill up the Proforma
The Format of the Proforma is provided below:
