Our names are Alona Yıldırım and Dilek Duman. We have been working in an IB- PYP International School in Turkey. We unite our interests and passion in an Instagram account - Reggio.Inspired.PYP - to think and create together with educators around the world and learn from each other.
I love the sense of community that can arise in a class. Being with kids keeps the inner child innocent and alive. I'm happy to say this is my 10th year teaching in a PYP school and overall 18 years of teaching experience. I’m an avid believer in the inquiry-based process of learning, having taught mostly within the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme. By teaching children to wonder and how to find out the answers to their questions, we are creating lifelong learners. I strive to create a place for students to engage in authentic inquiry; where they are supported and challenged to become independent and self-aware learners, empowered to tackle problems collaboratively in creative ways.
I truly believe that “What makes a child gifted and talented may not always be good grades in school, but a different way of looking at the world and learning.”(Chuck Grassley). I currently work in Oberoi International School, Mumbai, India and I am looking forward to always sharing my knowledge and collaborating with educators across the globe.
