Classroom door competition→ Every group worked side by side and the results were amazing, don’t you think?
Horror storytelling: Who doesn’t enjoy a spooky story? Our students in 1st year CSE have proved to be great storytellers...
Home- made photocall→ everybody wanted to keep a memory of this celebration! Can you spot yourself in the photographs?
Moreover, our students took part in scavenger hunts, terrifying Maths challenges and much more…
DESCRIPTION OF AN ANIMAL: WILDLIFE OF THE BRITISH ISLES
The British Isles are home to an astounding variety of plants and animals -as an anecdote you may find it curious to know that there are over 4, 000 species of beetle alone- and new species are still being discovered and arriving there from overseas.
Many people around the world have become familiar with Britain´s unique wildlife through popular children´s literature. Beatrix Potter, the author of Peter Rabbit, for example, was born in London. he wrote about the animals she knew – rabbits, ducks, badgers, frogs, hedgehogs, squirrels, moles, mice, foxes, and domestic animals such as pigs, guinea pigs, and cats.
These animals are still iconic among Great Britain’s wildlife. In the past, there were also large mammals roaming the islands. Conservation efforts strive to reintroduce these species and support those that have been in decline for the past century.

Our students have done some research about an animal of their choice and, following the model we learned in English/ Literacy class, they had to write a text describing it and create a poster including photographs. After that, we read all the texts and played a game to find out who could remember more information. We have certainly learned a lot of curious facts about wildlife in the British Isles!
SHOP TILL YOU DROP!
Our students learn about shopping in the UK and about the establishments they´re more likely to find on an average British high street. Can you guess which shop is which? BTW how cool is the decoration in our aisle?
SCHOOL DAY OF NON- VIOLENCE AND PEACE
Did you know that School Day of Non- Violence and Peace is an observance day founded by the Spanish poet Lorenc Vidal in 1964? It´s observed in schools around the world on the 30th January, on Mahatma Gandhi´s death anniversary. These year, we wanted to pay homage to John Lennon and his powerful "Imagine" by reflecting our sincere wishes for a peaceful, respectful and tolerant world filled with love and solidarity.
"Peace is not something you wish for; it´s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away". John Lennon
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE
International Day of Women and girls is science is held on 11th February in order to highlight women´s achievements and contribution to this field and to encourage girls and women in general to pursue their dreams in science and technology.
Ada Lovelace, Marie Curie, Ann Makosinski, Lisa Meitner, Sofía Kovalevskaya, Dian Fossey and Rosalind Franklin are some of the great female scientists our students did a bit of research on in the last few days. This is the final result of their work! We hope you´ll like it!
ST VALENTINE´S DAY
"Love makes the world go round", don´t you think? It´s the fuel that keeps everything and everyone going.
We got a bit sentimental these last few days learning about English and American love poetry. Love definitely conquers all! Has it conquered you yet? Happy Valentine´s Day from the BTC Team!
Check out the stunning mural our students have made.
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my
true)
and it´s you are whatever a moon has always
meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
e.e. cummings ( 1894- 1962, American poet)
IF YOU WANT A FUTURE, TAKE CARE OF THE PRESENT
In the framework of our Erasmus+ project "Sustainable Cities: Past and Present", we have carried out a workshop in the subject of English/ Literacy with the aim of reflecting on the main environmental problems that we are facing nowadays and to put into practice actions in order to be more environmentally- friendly. Among other activities, we have calculated our footprint and our own Earth Overshoot Day, which are extremelly helpful in order to decide what actions we can change in our home, our school and our city so that we live more sustainably.
Small actions can make a difference! What about you? What do you do to be more environmentally- friendly?
