1st term - SOCIAL SCIENCES

3rd ESO students learnt about Responsible Consumption. They started by learning about climate change, the meaning of responsible consumption and then, they learned about what the European Union is doing to achieve it and what the circular economy is. Finally, they found out some Catalan brands that are known for being involved in circular economy and did some research to find some more sustainable companies and brands. 

They also created posters to explain what responsible consumption is and give examples of what people can do.

3rd term - SOCIAL SCIENCES

This time, the project was about tourism and the task was presented as follows: "Blanes town council is preparing a plan to increase the tourism all year long. In groups, prepare a presentation. Firstly, you will explain the current scenario of the tourism in Blanes according to the results of your previous DAFO (SWOT: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats).  Furthermore, you will have to propose different strategies the council could implement in order to achieve a more sustainable tourism and to diversify the offer and achieve a deseasonalisation."

SAILING - PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The students of 3rd ESO also learnt English while sailing and doing physical education!

During the 1st and 3rd term, they worked on specific sailing content in English, such as explaining how to assemble a boat, the weather, headings and manoeuvres. These contents helped them with our exchange programmes as we had some visitors from foreign countries. For example, our students were able to explain how to assemble a boat and what the basic principles of navigation are to Finnish students and teachers.

Moreover, during the 2nd term, they went to Blanes sports centre where they worked on physical condition, rugby and Ultimate.
