Last May 3rd, Global Scholars students went to visit the Montblanc social gardens. They are gardens that the townhall gives to some families to work on and plant their own vegetables, so they have food and they learn the techniques of gardening.
They explained the function of the garden and why they were created. After the explanation we did a round of questions and finally we planted vegetables and cultivated the path.
Questions:
Have you had the idea to have chickens to have ecological eggs?
Sometimes some people have the idea, but we don’t think that it is a good idea.

Winter crops require less care because they are more humid and do not need as much water nor are they subject to so much temperature.
Who had the idea of creating the garden? The people of an association called la Xicoia.
What is more complicated, a natural garden or a chemical one? Why? Both are equally complicated for different reasons such as when to screw up the products and that you kill a lot of insects. On the other hand, if it is natural, many insects will eat your orchards or many fruits will be small or defective.
What is the most cultivated vegetable?
Depending on the time of year, one vegetable or another is grown more. In the winter the most cultivated are broad beans and during the summer tomatoes are one of the most planted.
Which vegetables do you use the most water for?
Everything is watered at the same time, the only variation of the water is during summer and winter
