BILINGUAL CORNER

The Feast of Saint Valentine is celebrated annually on February 14. This year, we have designed a poster entitled Love Yourself. Students have written encouraging messages addressed to themselves. We have also had the help of our language assistants in this project.
Todos los años el 14 de febrero celebramos la festividad de San Valentín. Con motivo de esta efeméride, el alumnado de secundaria de nuestro centro ha escrito mensajes alentadores dirigidos a ellos mismos. De ahí, que hayamos titulado el póster Love yourself (Quiérete a ti mismo). En este proyecto, hemos contado con la ayuda de nuestros auxiliares de conversación.

Next week some primary schools are visiting us and we have suggested them an activity: New Year's Resolutions. Primary school children will have to write a new year's resolution on a piece of orange, brown or white cardboard and they will fill the beard of the Three Wise Men. A year later, when they are students at our school, they will be able to check if they have fulfilled their purpose or not.
La semana que viene abrirá las puertas nuestro Mercado Navideño alrededor del cual se están organizando numerosas actividades. Entre ellas, la visita del alumnado de 6º de primaria de nuestros centros adscritos, a los que hemos preparado una serie de actuaciones:
- Pase a dos del ballet El Cascanueces.
-Baile de un villancico flamenco por dos alumnas de Bachillerato.
-Práctica de laboratorio: extracción de ADN dirigida por alumnos. Los alumnos de los coles podrán ver su propio ADN.
Además, hemos pedido su colaboración para la siguiente actividad: New Year's Resolutions. Vamos a poner en la puerta del mercadillo un dibujo grande de los tres reyes magos (sin barba). Cada colegio tendrá que traer una cartulina de tamaño A7 (octava parte de un folio) de los siguientes colores:
-Cortines Pacheco: naranja (para la barba de Gaspar).
-Ignacio Halcón: marrón (para la barba de Baltasar).
-El Recreo: blanca (para la barba de Melchor).
Cada niño tendrá que escribir en inglés un propósito de año nuevo en su trozo de cartulina, por ejemplo: to study a little bit more; to eat healthier food; to read 10 books... El objetivo es que peguen esos propósitos en las barbas de los tres reyes magos. Guardaremos el mural que quedará al final para exponerlo en el mercadillo el curso que viene. De esta manera, un año más tarde, podrán ver qué propósitos tenían y si los cumplieron.
CHRISTMAS MARKET
Christmas is coming and we have already started to organise the activities related to the Christmas Market.
First of all, we would like to form a group of students, teachers and if it is possible of parents to sing a Christmas Carol and use it to wish a Merry Christmas to the educative community of El fontanal and other schools in the city.
La Navidad se acerca y en el IES El fontanal, ya hemos comenzado a preparar las actividades relacionadas con el Mercado Navideño.
Buscamos alumnado, profesorado, PAS y familias para formar un grupo y preparar un villancico que será el acompañamiento musical de la felicitación navideña de nuestro Centro este año.
