MARCH 13TH - 20TH, 2024
The Spanish team arrived to Germany the previus day. A long trip from Jerez de la Frontera - Madrid - Düsseldorf to Rheine. The whole group was very excited to meet their peers again.
After the welcome reception from the School principal, we began with the program activities
The students in small groups visited the School's facilities. We greeted several classes where English, mathematics, history and physical education were taught. We toured the indoor and outdoor sports facilities, the new physics and chemistry laboratory, the kitchen and the surprising bicycle parking in the basement.
As always we got surprised by small details like the school schedule, the posters on the walls, the boards in every room or the digital water fountain where you can gel cold, warm, hot still water or sparking water!!

The former residence of the noble von Morrien family is now a modern city museum.
Urban history, art and cultural history are our main topics. The city's development can be followed in the museum from the 9th century to the beginnings of the textile industry in Rheine. Archaeological finds from prehistory and early history provide insight into how our ancestors lived before the city was founded. Biedermeier living culture and works by artists born in Rheine such as Carlo Mense can also be seen.
The historic Morrien Hall with its rare painted wooden ceiling from the 17th century is a reminder of the history of the house. The attic, which was previously used as a granary, now houses the museum's extensive graphic collection. Art from the Middle Ages to modern times is shown in the Kasimir Hagen Collection, which arose from a private passion for collecting.
A renovation in 2003 finally brought to light a sensation in the listed building: underground passages were discovered and in them thousands of shards that the previous aristocratic residents had disposed of. After their restoration, these special testimonies of life can now be seen again in their authentic location: from the leather children's shoe to the painted pancake plate to the delicate Venetian-style wine glasses.

Burg Hülshoff is the ancestral seat of an old Westphalian noble family that has played a major role in shaping the history of the prince-bishopric and the city of Münster. By far the most famous member of the family, however, is the great German writer: Annette von Droste-Hülshoff.
Today, the moated castle houses, among other things, the Droste Museum, which provides an insight into the life of the poetess and the nobility of the time. The Droste Museum is located on the mezzanine floor of the castle - above the restaurant located in the basement. The permanent exhibition in the manor house takes visitors through several living rooms, providing information about the history of Burg Hülshoff as well as the life of Annette von Droste-Hülshoff.
The castle is surrounded by extensive parkland, which is freely accessible during opening hours.

The Gasometer is more than just an industrial monument. Since its decommissioning about twenty years ago it has developed into the landmark of the city of Oberhausen and, beyond that, it has become an entire region's identification sign that cannot be overlooked
