Mobility 2: Refugee Mummy's Recipe (Castelvetrano, Sicily Italy)

Partners travelling to Sicily the day before (12th December 2021)
Monday (13.12.2021)
All partners arrived at Istituto Compresivo "Capuana Pardo" in Sicily at 9 am in the morning. Different activities were carried out during the whole day. All teams were received by the major of the city, Enzo Alfano and the headmaster of the Italian high school, Anna Vania Stallone. Then, the Italian school offered a welcome concert and a typical Sicilian breakfast.

After a warm welcoming, all partners visited the school and participated in different activities in the library, the laboratory or the ICT room. After that, all partners started working on the project and presented their works about "Refuge Mummy's Recipe". The restrictions to fight Covid-19 wouldn't allow us to cook, but every team presented their recipes with images, videos and presentations.
Izmit 75. Yıl Cumhuriyet Secondary School students are between the ages of 10-13 so they have not vaccinated against covid- 19. For this reason, they could not go to Sicily. However, they joined the mobility online via Zoom.
After lunch, we had a guided tour in Castelverano with FAI guides (students from a different local school).
At 6 pm, we came back to Istituto Compresivo "Capuana-Pardo" to enjoy an inclusive and sustainable Christmas Fashion Show organized by the Art Department of the school and a live performance of the song "Heal the world". After the show, all partners shared dinner at a local restaurant.

Tuesday (14.12.2021)
On Tuesday, all partners and the refugee students went to the archeological site of Selinunte.
In the afternoon, we went to Mazara del Vallo, a multicultural maze of narrow streets and one the best cities in Sicily that represents diversity and multiculturality.

Wednesday (15.12.2021)
Early in the morning, all students participated in different sport activities. After that, all partners worked on the project and shared first impressions on all the things we were doing these days in Castelvetrano (Sicily). After lunch, we had a round table with refugees from Castelvetrano community, and students made their performances, showed their presentations and shared their experiences in Sicily to the local school community. Finally, all teachers involved had a meeting to coordinate the next steps of our project.

Thursday (16.12.2021)
On Thursday all participants went to Palermo, where we had a guided city tour and visited the cathedral, i quattro canti, la Martorana and the most famous monuments of the city.

Goodbye meeting conferring diplomas to all participants involved in the mobility. Time to say goodbye :(
