In our visit to Hamburg, we visited Neuengamme, a concentration camp. We found this visit to be highly important due to its significance when defending diversity. These historical sites serve as a reminder of the atrocities committed during the Holocaust, where millions of people were persecuted and murdered based on their ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, and other forms of identity. The brutality of these events show the catastrophic consequences of intolerance, discrimination, and xenophobia.

The visit of the camp gets the students to learn this issue on site, creating a deeper emotional connection and empathy for the victims. This profound awareness is crucial in recognizing the value of diversity, as it highlights the dangers of dehumanizing others based on differences.
