Slovakia's MEGA Club Introduction

MEGA, who?
MEGA club from Slovakia.
If you got through this predictable and lame joke, we would like to introduce our club a bit. It was created in 2019 and since then we have managed to organize a couple of amazing events. For example, a clothes swap where students could exchange some cool almost new pieces of clothing instead of throwing them away.
We also did presentations for our 1st graders, 2 years in a row, the first one in person and the second one online, where we introduced our club and talked a bit about how to be eco-friendlier. Through this event, we found students who were also interested in environmental problems and they joined our club. During the natural science day at our school, we did 3 workshops about zero waste, fast fashion and veganism.
Last but certainly not least we gave “eco-award” at our school Christmas market to eco-friendly stalls.
You might be asking now why we are doing this and what is the purpose of it. Well from our point of view it is important to do as much as possible for the environment and you can start with small steps like doing these kinds of events or just raising awareness about the current issues. We are also learning how to organise events and the importance of teamwork. During the participation in the project, we have met a lot of new people from Slovakia and other countries as well, this helped us improve our English. In general, it gave us a lot of experiences.
The future is in our hands. Let's try to make the best of what we got! :)
