Our experience in Zero Waste project:
We participated in a school project related to zero waste during 2 years. Our biology teacher proposed a challenge: we couldn’t produce any type of waste during the school year. We had a cupboard which we used to separate the residues so we could donate to places that knew how to recycle the materials properly. The organics were placed in a composter so it could be used in the plants. The most challenging part about this project was cleaning the materials before separating them, because we were not used to doing that before we started zero waste in our school. The zero waste project impacted positively in our daily lives. Nowadays we are more conscious about the impacts of our trash in the environment. We separate our residues in our houses, but always clean them before throwing away, apart from constantly search for new habits we can embrace in our daily lives.
