All researchers registered in USP Multi platform can use the computational resources of the cluster, but preference is given for those who are part of the CLIMARES research team.
For the definitions of quotas and usage preference, the users will be classified in two groups:
CLIMARES researchers
External users
The classification will occurr based on the most recent list of CLIMARES associated researchers on SAGe. Graduation students (masters, doctorate and post-doctorate) must be directly associated to CLIMARES researchers (through the advisor's Lattes CV) in order to be classificated in group 1.
After the request is approved by the Management Committee, a registration form will be sent to the user. It is necessary to inform the research and/or CLIMARES thematic axes (in case of a center researcher) associated with the computational resource requested. The registered account will be valid for one year, with the possibility of extension justifying to the Management Committee.
The cluster [name] has two types of storage:
Storage: HD data storage with large storage but low read/write speed. Occasional access. Files in this location will be maintained indefinitely.
Process: SSD data storage with low space but high read/write speed. Continuous access. Files in this location will be removed automatically after 6 months of inativity.
Each registered user (regardless of the group) will be limited to 100 GB storage in each storage type, up to 1000000 files. If more storage space is necessary, the user must contact the Management Committee justifying the necessity.
Equipment usage must be restricted to the approved research project purposes.
The users must not:
use other user's ID. The account is personal and non-transferable. The user must not propagate in any way access code to the [cluster's name] resources under penalty of account cancellation;
degrade system performance or interfere in further users' work;
use settings or security flaws or special passwords knowledge to alter computational system behaviour or stage, including its copy. A computational system is understood as the hardware, software and data ensemble.
The phrase "Pesquisa desenvolvida com utilização dos recursos computacionais do Centro de Pesquisa em Resiliência a Crises e Desastres Climáticos (CLIMARES), financiados pela FAPESP (processo 2024/00949-5)." or "Research carried out using the computational resources of the Climate Crisis and Disasters Resilience Research Center (CLIMARES) funded by FAPESP (grant 2024/00949-5)." must be used in any work or publication originated from the registered research projects.
Respect USP Ethical Code (www.prg.usp.br/wp-content/uploads/CodigoEtica.pdf) and USP computers and network usage rules (https://servicos.sti.usp.br/termos-de-uso/).
The user must fill specific reports indicating publications benefited from cluster usage as well as results obtained when requested.
