Class Description

We have varied levels of English proficiency at this school so there is not a set curriculum that we use in each grade. Instruction is tailored to meet the students at their level. We also make sure to provide a variety of hands-on activities to help the students engage in their learning.

For our newcomers (WIDA levels 1.0-2.9) we use the ACCESS Newcomers Curriculum, Saddleback Welcome Newcomers Curriculum and Saddleback ELL Teen Literacy Library. The EL teachers also use a plethora of additional resources to supplement the curriculum and make it more hands-on and activity-based.

For the students that are WIDA levels 3.0-4.5 we use Saddleback ELL Teen Literacy Library, and also focus on the following skills to ensure students are equipped to succeed in their content classes:
