About Me

Hi 5th Graders, Parents and Families!!!

I'm James Engler, better known as "Mr. Jimmy" :-)

I attended the University of Minnesota, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in 1980. Later, I attended the University of Phoenix and earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.

I have been teaching for 21 years. This will be my 11th year at TCIS, and I have loved every minute of it!!! I'll be teaching 6-7-8 Science and Technology.

My wife Sue and I have 2 grown children; Our daughter Sara is a dentist and she lives with her husband Ryan (also a Dentist) in Edina. They have a baby boy (My Grandson!!!) named; Finnley James Cooper!. Our son Tyler is a Math teacher at Wayzata High School, and he assists in coaching the Wrestling team.

I love teaching and I am looking forward to meeting my new 5th graders! I am very exited for another great school year!!!
