Explorations

Explorations class for Kindergarten through 5th grade blends hands-on S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) to help students build curiosity, resilience, and team-building skills. Ms. Wesam will be teaching SEL and Arabic and Ms. Amanda will be teaching S.T.E.M for the 2026-2027 School Year. 

Program Overview:

• Core Focus: Combines scientific inquiry with language and social skill development.

• Grade Range: Kindergarten through 5th Grade (ages 5–11).

• Teaching Style: Project-based learning, collaborative experiments, and guided reflection.

Key Areas of Study:

S.T.E.M Inquriy

• Hands-on Experiments: Students test ideas, build simple structures, and observe nature.

• The Scientific Method: Children learn to ask questions, make predictions, test hypothesis, and share results. 

• Problem Solving: Activities and labs challenge kids to think critically and build resilience.

• Responsible Decision-Making: Safety rules and group agreements guide how students treat materials and peers.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) & Arabic

• Self-Awareness: Students identify their feelings and learn how to channel them into something positive. 

• Self-Management: Kids practice patience while working with others. 

• Social Awareness: Learners respect different ideas.

• Relationship Skills: Teamwork tasks teach active listening and sharing responsibilities.

• Arabic Language Development: Students will learn how to read, write, and learn basic conversation skills in the Arabic language.
