Q What is the Time Commitment

How many hours will be involved for each course for the participants?

Every learner is unique. Some will be new to GBS and some will be experienced in GBS. Some will learn faster than others. Some weeks a student will be able to spend more time on the course than other weeks. That’s why this model of self-paced learning is so attractive – it allows learners to move at a speed that suits them.

However, on each course there is a start-point and an end-point when an end-of-course assessment must be completed. Also on Course’s 2 and 3 there are some check-points in between when assignments will be due. All of this will be explained and clarified during the Induction event which will be held at the start of each course.

To allow participants to plan their time commitment the following general time guidelines are given (but remember the caveats above). Ultimately it will depend on what each person can do and can manage given their work and lifestyle commitments. Both DIT and the Hackett Institute will be flexible and understanding in how they respond to each student’s individual needs and requirements.

In the following estimates “typical time commitment” includes: online time on course, completion of end of chapter assessments and completion of assignments during course and end of course final assessment.
