Students should have a scientific calculator for Algebra 1 and Geometry. A graphing calculator is not necessary. Any scientific calculator like this is fine. The CASIO FX-350ES PLUS is a good example of an inexpensive calculator that will do everything required.
We will use a graphing calculator app this year for the few times that we need one, and this will be available as an app for Android or iOS, or as a webpage simulation. We will be using the Calculate 84 calculator app because they offer an open-source option for their calculator. This is available on the iTunes app store. There are similar simulators for android as well that I can help you find.
Another online calculator that is avaible is Numworks
If you want to invest in a graphing calculator now, then a CASIO FX-9750GII or a TI-84 would be good models to begin with.
If you have an Android you can try using this online calculator. It is very similar to the calculator I use in my videos.
If you are having trouble accessing an online calcutor you can also use Numworks. I have attached this onto my website. The layout is different than a TI-84, but it has all the same features. If you are having trouble using it let me know and I can show you how to use it.
