About The Teacher

I have been teaching at Regina for twenty-three years.  I started with three years in fourth grade, then changed to 3rd and 4th Resource.  After that I spent two years teaching 3rd graders and now really enjoy being with 2nd graders!  2nd grade is so much fun!  It's a wonderful age when children are becoming more independent and responsible.

I grew up in Iowa City, attended The University of Iowa, and now live east of town with my family.  Ian and Tatiana are my children who are twenty-three and twenty-two years old, both graduates of Regina.  Tatiana works in the Financial Aid Department at The University of Iowa and Ian graduated from The University of Iowa in 2021 and is now attending graduate school for secondary education.  I also have a new daughter-in-law, Paige, who married Ian on July 1st.  My husband, Juan, works at Proctor and Gamble.  We also have a very playful cat named Ollie.

Mission For The Class

I love to see the "light bulb" turn on for students. Students' enthusiasm is essential for learning.  I want all students to feel successful, respected, and that they are valued for their individuality.  I want students to grow academically, socially, and of course, spiritually throughout the year.
