For twin cylinder bikes the kit includes Housing, Classic Twin ignition, Dual output coil (IGC-2012), leads and spark plug caps.
For single cylinder bikes please contact us prior to ordering and we will supply a different ignition coil.
A battery is required to get the best possible results such as easy starting. A 12-volt 4 Ahr battery would be fine – should be about half the size of a house brick.
The Magneto Replacment (MRK-0001) has electronic advance and retard built in. It requires a solid drive gear (no springs and weights) which is not included in the kit.
You can set the timing statically using the built-in LED on the module – it simply requires that you accurately position the engine at the fully advanced crank position for the setup procedure.

Our 6-volt and 12-volt coils are oiled filled like the original Lucas product. They have improved cores and windings to produce higher spark energy over many others on the market. Same size as Lucas 17M12, 17M6 etc.
IGC-1006 Tri-Spark oil filled 6-volt ignition coil - 2 required for Classic Twin.

IGC-3030 Dyna style dual output high performance coil.
Tri-Spark coils have extra windings using heavier wire and a high grade core for improved spark energy and duration with the benefit of being oiled filled like the original coils. Oil filled coils have improved heat dissipation and work better than epoxy filled as epoxy is not a great conductor of heat. They are lighter and are not susceptible to internal arcing, which can destroy epoxy filled coils.
The appearance and dimensions are the same as the later Lucas type coil (17m12, 17m6) Diameter 40mm. They have 3.9 ohms primary resistance.
Warning - These coils discharge with a very high voltage so extra care must be taken to always have a spark plug connected to the HT output.

Tri-Spark HT leads with right angle coil ends have a stranded copper core inside 2 layers of very flexible silicone and rubber insulation. The coil end fitting is already crimped on - just cut to length and attached the spark plug cap. Easy! Tough and reliable! Length 90 cm. Diameter 7 mm.

This coil suits two spark plugs per cylinder installation in combination with the Tri-Spark Classic Twin ignition system.
Primary resistance 1.8 Ohms.
HT leads 60cm long included - Spark plug caps sold separately. Spark Plug Caps or Small Spark Plug Caps, two cap per coil required.
