Here's the final original video in which I present the Trader Joe's bag question to the world (below)
Here's the email I sent to some of the higher ups at Trader Joe's:
I recognize that there's a 90-something percent chance you'll see this a a spam-type email, but I thought it was fun and wanted to get some TJs people in on it...
I've always found it funny that in every Trader Joe's store I've ever been to from California to NY, the cashier always double bags the groceries, adding the comment "I'm gonna double-bag these - the handles on these bags are terrible." That prompted me to design an experiment for my 12 grade Physics class where we test how strong the bags actually are. We start tomorrow. I made a short video directed toward TJs employees, thinking it might may for a good break-room estimation game: https://youtu.be/qK6nUYrCMRE
Thanks.

And much to my surprise Trader Joe's CEO Dan Bane was quick to respond:
Got the email and watched your YouTube video. One hint...the bags are pretty strong when the handles are used “up” and are not strong when they are pulled “out.” We await your experiment.
By the way...we try to train our Crew Members not to double bag...but there is a feeling that customers want it and our folks do it because they want to do what they think customers want.
Here's the final compilation video I put together (below)
And here's Mr. Bane's response to this video:
Cool video…thanks. Maybe we can show it at our Captains’ Meeting this year.

Rules:
Arrange desks so all screens face the center of the room
Computer use: at NO time should you be using the computer for anything other than the Trade Joe's project
Each student will recieve a "progress grade" for each day we work on this project in class. This will be an easy grade if you are working efficiently and continue to move forward. I was forced to create this because my experience has been that a handful of students will spend more time socilaizing than working on the video.
You MUST add 2 of your own video clips. One will be an introduction and the other will be a conclusion/closing statement.
If you miss class at all, it is your responsibility to get on a computer with MovieMaker and get this assignment done. The library computer lab is the best place for this.
Working in this order is strongly encouraged:
