Multidisciplinary Journal of Sustainability (MJoS)
Publication Date: 25 June 2026
Sustainability challenges require multidisciplinary approaches that integrate environmental stewardship, technological innovation, socio-economic development, and community well-being. This issue of the Multidisciplinary Journal of Sustainability (MJoS) reflects this commitment through a diverse collection of studies addressing sustainability from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
The issue opens with a study on the economic potential of natural Nipah (Nypa fruticans) ecosystems in Tambirat, Sarawak. By combining drone-based mapping, biomass assessment, and economic modelling, the study demonstrates how sustainable utilisation of Nipah resources can support rural livelihoods, strengthen the green bioeconomy, and promote wetland conservation. As an example of research that bridges environmental sustainability with socio-economic development, this contribution sets the tone for the multidisciplinary scholarship presented in this issue.
The remaining articles explore a broad spectrum of sustainability-related topics, including satellite-enabled environmental monitoring, sustainable housing, renewable biomass utilisation, education tourism, entrepreneurship, indigenous food products, inclusive early childhood education, and environmental conservation. Together, these studies illustrate how innovation, scientific inquiry, and community engagement can contribute to sustainable development across diverse contexts.
The Editorial Board extends its sincere appreciation to the authors and reviewers for their valuable contributions and rigorous evaluations. We hope this issue will inspire further interdisciplinary research, inform policy and practice, and continue to strengthen MJoS as a platform for advancing sustainability scholarship.
