In this lecture, we are presented with the existence and reproduction of both perceptual and data delivery biases in digital databases, digital networks, search engines and the Internet in general. This is largely due to the cognitive and perceptual biases of coders and creators of platforms, and biases and mistakes in collecting and storing information.
We need to be aware of the existence of these biases and the need not to reproduce them is highlighted by Ms. Operto. In order to do so, the speaker emphasizes the need to avoid the reproduction of these biases in our digital work by not feeding them, but at the same time the she points out that it is really important to work from the perspective of Roboethics.
In this workshop, the teacher of Scuola di Robotica, starts with the history of the device and its technical characteristics and sensors, proceeds with its coding, and concludes with its didactics in schools and high schools, introducing also the Lego competitions.
The IBSTEAM team presents their work on cybersecurity and combating fake news in schools and high schools to the other members of the mobility. They display different posters created for this purpose and distribute them to the rest of the participants. The link of IBSTEAM site on cybersecurity is given to the Italian and Swedish members, where materials, resources and links to enhance digital security are collected.
