This year, we will be hosting a “Bring Your Grown-Ups to Music Day" for Kindergarten and First Grade. This event has been designed to show Kindergarten and First Grade families what it’s like in the General Music classroom at IBES. The event will be held on Thursday, April 9th and Friday, April 10th. Please RSVP by following this link (appreciated, but not required).
What to Expect: Expect to make music, play games, and enjoy the activities that your student experiences on a regular basis in the Music classroom.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable clothing to allow for play, sitting on the floor, and relaxing.
When to Come: Come to your student's Music class on April 9th or 10th. The schedule can be found by following this link.
Tuesday, May 5th is a special day in downtown Peoria. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Graders will be performing outside of the Peoria Riverfront Museum in Peoria, IL. Each performance will take place at the "Sun Plaza Stage." Below are the performance times for each grade level:
2nd Grade – 12:00 to 12:10
3rd Grade – 12:20 to 12:35
4th Grade – 12:45 to 1:00
Your child will be arriving at the museum by bus. It is best for audience members to arrive around 10 minutes before their student’s scheduled performance time, as unforeseen circumstances can slightly affect the schedule. Anyone is welcome to attend, but keep in mind that while there is plenty of standing room, seating is limited. Additionally, Mr. Geiger plans to record these performances and compile them on a separate website so that they can be enjoyed by viewers at home.
This performance takes place outdoors, so have your student wear clothing that is appropriate for the weather and shoes that are appropriate for standing on risers. If you would like your student to wear sunblock, please apply it before coming to school.
Students will not be allowed to leave with parents after their performance. All students will return to school on the bus. An all call will be placed if plans are changed due to inclement weather. If you have any questions, please direct them to Mr. Geiger by emailing him at jgeiger@ib327.com.
