Overview

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people. Made up of members aged 14-18, Interact gives young people an opportunity to participate in fun, meaningful service projects. Through their service activities, members will learn the importance of:

Developing leadership skills and personal integrity
Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
Understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work
Advancing international understanding and goodwill

IBHS Chapter Meetings & Engagements

Members of the IBHS chapter will be required to attend monthly meetings and several engagements throughout the school year. Engagements may include volunteering at a local organization/business, attending leadership-building events, and partaking in community service projects in connection with the Downtown Peoria Rotary.

Membership

New members will need to submit a completed application, resume, two letters of recommendation, and a printed copy of their essay response. Further details can be found on the subsequent pages. To retain membership, students must hold a 3.0 GPA or better. They must also have no occurrence of ISS or OSS. A reevaluation of membership will occur in December and April of each school year. Membership may be terminated if academic and behavioral performance do not meet chapter expectations.

Leadership Committee

Upon admittance, 11th and 12th grade members will have the opportunity to join the Leadership Committee. These members are responsible for attending more frequent meetings, assisting with organizational tasks, and providing support to other members.

Fees

Returning members: $30/year

New members: $45

Due April 1, 2024

Membership fees cover club celebrations and uniforms.
