Konrad Muller

Konrad Muller was born in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Adelaide and obtained a PhD from the University of New South Wales with a thesis on Inflammation.
- 1983 - 2002: Professor and Head of Pathology at the University of Tasmania, Hobart, Australia.
- 2003 – present: Emeritus Professor and honorary Fellow in the School of Medicine, University of Tasmania.
- 1994 - 1997: Academic Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
- 2001 - 2002: Associate Dean of Research, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
- 2004: Acting Director of Anatomical Pathology, Queensland Health Pathology Services.
- 1993 - 1995: President of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
- 1991 - 1993: President of the Australasian Division of the International Academy of Pathology.
- 1998 - 2004: Vice-President for Australasia, IAP. Kon’s main research has been in the areas of immunopathology and cancer, with particular concentration on the biology of Langerhans cells/dendritic cells and their modulation of immune reactions. During his academic career, Kon has held visiting posts at a number of Universities including Cambridge and Bristol in the UK, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, USA, University of Malaya, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2004 he was awarded a distinguished Fellow award from the Royal College of pathologists of Australasia.
