The Brazilian Scientific Committee of Nowcasting is composed by professionals and researchers with long experience in topics such as research to nowcasting and very-short range forecasting of local convective storms. The Committee is responsible for preparing guidelines for the implementation and operationalization of nowcasting in Brazil. Given the scope of the areas involved in nowcasting and in order to discuss specific issues in the theme, working groups on 1) Data, Integration and Visualization, 2) Numerical Modelling, 3) Severe Weather and Alerts, 4) Verification, and 5) Training and Capacity Building were created and thus more people are being involved in the discussions.
